New Year, Great Diaglogues, Come Join Us!

January 14, 2011 in Announcements

Hey all,

We’re off to a great year already. We’ve discussed Identity, Stereotypes and the Roots of TREA, which stem from the Cultural Awareness Council started in the late 80’s in Jackson Heights.

On the table for later in the cycle are meetings about how to Break the Cycle of Hate, Human and Women’s Rights, Relationships and Dating Violence, Poetry, Community Organizing and whatever topics you’d like to have dialogue about with your peers. We are always open to new ideas. We’re planning a trip to a rooftop farm in Queens when the sun is warm enough to sprout seeds and would love to take you all to a museum, to The Door, or to any other culturally festive place.

Hope you all will come join us to discuss, speak out and express yourselves.

Gender Roles

January 9, 2011 in Flyers

Hey all,

Thanks for attending our last meeting. We watched a documentary called Blue Gold: World Water Wars and discussed about the film. It was a productive and great workshop. Our next TREA workshop will be this Thursday, January 12th. We will be talking about gender roles. It’s a strong topic so we hope you guys come and enjoy the workshop. This workshop will take place in the the Renaissance Charter School (81st and 37th in Jackson Heights) in room 313 at 6pm. Please spread the word to other teens that you know. TREA is open to the public (with ID). Snacks and refreshments will be available. We hope to see you all there!!!!

Sincerely,
TREAfolks

YOU!
