Welcome to the TREA blog. TREA, which stands for Teens for Racial and Ethnic Awakening is a group for teens by teens. We are a discussion group that promotes community building in a safe space currently housed in The Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights, Queens. For about decade we have been exploring cultural, political, and social importance that are significant to teens in our community. We meet Thursdays from 6-8pm during the school year and we are open to all New York City teens. Our purpose is to provide a safe space where teens can voice their thoughts and share their passions. We will be updating this blog weekly so stop by and join us in exploring our weekly topics.
